I regularly use the bathroom located near the Legacy Lounge at Lory Student Center. It seems that as I enter the toilet stall, the toilet flushes. When I sit down, the toilet flushes. When I’ve finished my business and stand up, the toilet flushes. As I open the door to walk out, the toilet flushes. So, I’m for putting the handles back on toilets and urinals and asking people be responsible for their shit.

My personal peeve is the water faucets that won’t turn on when you need them and the soap dispensers that shoot soap onto your sleeve. 😉 Of course I always remind myself that in the long run it’s probably better to waste a little water than to depend on others to mind their own shit! 🙂

I relate to your personal peeves, also. My fear is the lack of interest in what our actions or lack of actions are doing to the environment. In my younger years I had little thought about how my simple actions were affecting the world. Anyway I don’t rant on here very often.

Nothing wrong with a good rant, and yours is definitely appropriate. Wasting water is a valid concern, although sometimes I wonder how much difference a toilet makes vs. all of the more wasteful things we do, like watering grass or cooling nuclear plants. Don’t get started, right?

I call it a rant but it’s more for humor and to let off steam. I remember all the wasted water I saw while working as a flight attendant. Those toilets and urinals flush continuously.
