My primary reason for this trip was to visit my friends Duane and Jan at Yellowstone Holiday. They retired a couple years ago, sold their home and living fulltime in their RV and have been working in RV camps the past two years. They are loving it. Last year they were working a camp along the California coast. This is the Sunday morning sunrise at the small marina they work at. The dim lights on the left are from the marina lodge and store. This view is looking outside of their RV on Hebgen Lake.

I agree and am glad I can share a piece of their life with you. He owned a business and she worked the city. Both were stresser careers. Now they interact and help people enjoy the gift of these RV parks for travelers. They work hard but enjoy going to work. This winter is going to be a time to travel for them rather than work.

What a beautiful well-balanced photo, Monte. I think work camping makes full-time RV’ing much more financially feasible, especially in the last few years with crowded campsites and higher site prices. We have friends that are still full-time.

Thanks, Earl. They are not sure how long this will work for them. As long as they are enjoying going to work and can physically do the work then it will continue. It seems they get offers on a regular basis from workampers website and they are also looking. This winter will most likely be for traveling rather than working for them.

That’s not a bad way to spend time in interesting locations. The RV life has never called me, although I can certainly see the appeal. Waking up to a view like that could be an influencing factor.

There is a voice within me suggesting that waking to scenes like this is what all of us probably need more of. We have such a beautiful world of nature, which we are a part of but too often isolate from. Being present to those scenes changes us.
