Respect for the environment, and respect for what was naturally occurring in nature:

that was the bedrock of all original peoples. Harmony, coexistence, not conquest and conquer.
The wind has been blowing since early this morning bringing a snowfall of yellow and gold leaves. It is a bad hair day and not suited for bicycling or photography. I met my friend Nancy for coffee and an enjoyable conversation. I’ve been inside the rest of the day doing things such as laundry, a shower and cleaning. Therefore this image was taken in November of 2017 at Arapaho Bend Natural Area. I have had several people compliment me on the gift of the natural areas near me. I must say I am lucky to have these areas and support them with my money and vote which I hope keeps the conquest and conquering fans at bay. May we respect natures ways and enjoy time with her!

A beautiful photo, no matter when it was made. We are lucky to have comfortable places to shelter, aren’t we? During this season when the weather turns, my thoughts often turn to those who don’t have food or shelter, especially this year, when it seems the needy have been abandoned by many in power.

We have a homeless man who comes through the neighborhood each day carrying a large backpack. He is always coming from the west where I assume he has a place to stay for the night. He limps badly as if in pain. I see him at different times. Sometimes before sunrise and sometimes after sunrise. Yesterday morning he came through early, before sunrise. I question myself in what can or am I needing to do for him, besides just watching with compassion. My thinking is no different those who I assume have the power because I do have the power to touch his life in some way. That could be nothing more than just acknowledging him. Your comment has spoken to me, my friend!
