This is looking out my windshield when I pulled up to the coffee shop this morning. I was surprised to see a half dozen people riding bicycles on my way to the coffee shop. They are hardier souls than me! We awoke to overcast skies and this gentle but steady rain, which is nurturing both nature and our souls. I hope they are correct when they say it may rain like this all day. As a beautiful metaphor, I would like to suggest that each raindrop is a symbol of each of us, which in union with other raindrops gives much hope for positive change and nurturing which our world desperately needs. Yes, let’s believe it is possible for us to be the change our world needs and live it!

While I applaud the sentiments of peace and healing, these days, there seems to be a balance between those who represent and work for positivity and those who see and work for negativity, resulting in a stalemate. If there is not some type of accountability and retribution for those crooks who are abusing our government and country now, I’m afraid there is little hope for our future. If these disgusting people get away with it all, then what’s to stop others in the future?

I agree there are some who work for negativity. But there are many people who are making a positive difference and never make the headlines. They are the ones we must have hope in for the possibility of change. It seems we have a broken system or world view and it’s been broken for a long, long time. And this world view seems based on superiority, entitlement, power, control, violence, hatred, wealth, status and self-centeredness. I would like to see people live outside of that system and be a part of its change. As the quote says, it may seem impossible but I believe that it is possible. Changing people’s view of the world and erasing old tapes takes a long time. And, I’m not sure we can stop others in the future until we change how we see the world and ourselves as a community of people. We have shown retribution has not worked so far in mankind’s history and that is because it’s based in the system: superiority, entitlement. I am also aware that many will not agree with me. Thank you for comment and causing me to think a bit deeper!! Now my head hurts!
