They actually make a pretty good pizza. I haven’t tried the subs but they look awesome.

Yes, Bluer is a Word
Blue Skies over the CSU Soccer Practice Field I love blue skies! So, after getting off the bus and walking to Morgan Library on Colorado State University campus I had to smile and point my camera to the northern skies. I find this time of the year to be a favorite. We begin to have cooler temperatures making for a better night of sleep and refreshing mornings. And, I think the blue skies are bluer! 🙂

Strange to be back in class
Shadows on Campus I have been spending more time on campus since I began auditing a new class call Spiritual Deminsion of Human Life. I have a friend who is a professor at CSU and has invited me to sit in on this new class. Strange to take a seat in a college classroom after 25 years.
They have a program for the seniors where at the discretion of the instructor, seniors 55 years of age or older may attend any University class as a visitor without formal registration, provided on campus classroom space is available and it’s free. I can do homework but do not turn it in, nor do I take any quizzes of finals. I’ve found it fun.

Newly painted lines on our street There is always something calling my attention, lines, patterns, light and shadows. As our cameras do exclude somethings due to the frame we have an opportunity to create abstracts, causing the viewer to take that second or third look. This time it was lines.

Bokeh
Depth of Field, taken at 35mm f2.0 The term comes from the Japanese word boke the “blur quality”. The Japanese term boke is also used in the sense of a mental haze or senility. The term bokashi is related, meaning intentional blurring or gradation.
The English spelling bokeh was popularized in 1997 in Photo Techniques magazine, when Mike Johnston, the editor at the time, commissioned three papers on the topic for the March/April 1997 issue; he altered the spelling to suggest the correct pronunciation to English speakers, saying “it is properly pronounced with bo as in bone and ke as in Kenneth, with equal stress on either syllable”.

Where’d Spring Go?
Fresh Snow A cold front has moved in and brought much-needed moisture but also cold temperatures. The rain began yesterday afternoon then became a mix of rain and snow. Some periods were just snow as you can see in the above image taken from my porch around 4:30 pm. All is well this morning as the snow accumulation was no more than a dusting. But now we live with the cold for the next 36 hours. I’m hoping the mountains received a lot more snow.

Muted Colors This past weekend I spent in Colorado Springs at a conference. During a break I walked around the hotel hoping something would catch me eye. This is what I was given, simple and common.
