As I drove home Friday afternoon I noticed this new snowman in the front yard of a home along Mountain Avenue. Turned the car around so I could meet this fellow and see if he’d let me post an image of him on my blog. He had a Kool hat. I thought I heard him say yes. 🙂
It was 13 degrees this morning while waiting for the bus as I headed to campus and a mocha at Morgan Library. What was I thinking or was I? Anyway the mocha hit the spot and library was warm quiet.
A winter snow storm came through Wednesday morning and moved out by noon on Thursday. It has brought some cold temperatures and 6-8 inches of snow. It’s 7:30 am and my weather app and car both say -9 degrees. Have not been too interested in going out so I played with some images. This image was taken a few years ago and converted in Silver EFEX Pro using one of their presets. Here is the color version,

It was 20 degrees this morning with a dusting of 1-2 inches of powdery snow. And, they say it will be this way the rest of the week. Brrrr!
This is from a trip I made to San Francisco back in October 2005. I flew out and stayed in a hostel in San Francisco and walked the streets. I processed this image using Silver EFEX Pro 2.
Part of what photography does so well is to dispense with preconceived notions, reeducate, and reshape one’s thinking and attitudes about places and things–even history.

I agree with his quote as I feel photography has reeducated and reshaped my thinking. As long as I am looking I will see images. As long as I have a camera with me I will have the opportunity to go home with an image.
Since arriving in the Phoenix area, I’ve made 3 trips to visit my parents in Gold Canyon. A couple weeks ago I was shocked to see the condition of the golf course in their community. The grass that was green the week before now looked like it was dying, and it was. So, what happened?
