There is always something calling my attention, lines, patterns, light and shadows. As our cameras do exclude somethings due to the frame we have an opportunity to create abstracts, causing the viewer to take that second or third look. This time it was lines.

I’ll be interested in the results. It certainly works in colour (due to the minimal amount of it).

Very nice parallel lines. I’ll be interested to see how you feel about black and white, although I wondered about desaturating everything except the yellow line. An alternative might be to just darken the green grass or crop it out completely.

I’m not sure why I didn’t crop out the grass as it did cross my mind. I felt it would give more identifiction to what I was shooting. I’m going revise this image, letting it set for a while.

I think I’d keep the grass. It acts as an anchor point. Stops the picture from becoming too flat. It also gives the viewer a sense of recognition. Allows the eyes to cycle through the image from the top, to the bottom, and back up again to the top. I guess the yellow line could do the same job but the photo would have to stay in colour. Just a thought.

I’m glad that you didn’t think to try to go out and smudge the freshly painted lines, Monte. Or perhaps that only happens in my mind. 😀
