Sorry for posting another image of trees and another fence post but they seem to be everywhere I look. I did make a drive north of town last night and found some interesting areas I will need to search out. Seems like lots of potential for images. I do hope everyone enjoys their 4th of July!

Columbine
Hope everyone in the Fort Collins area is taking care of themselves. I’m on a trip and following closely the progress of the High Park Fire just west of Fort Collins. I hope everyone is safe!

Clematis
A couple years ago my youngest sister, Sheree, started playing in the dirt. By that I mean she became obsessed with transforming her yard into her sanctuary. She has done an awesome job. It’s been therapy and a new field of study for her. She has built porches, flag stone walkways and arbors. She knows each plant and flower, talks to them as she weeds. This Clematis, growing on one of the lattices, was taken in her back yard.

Fallen Leaves
As I mentioned in my last post, when going for our walks, we will sometimes see those things we walk by many times before but have never seen. But, at other times, we will visually see those things that weren’t there the last time we walked that same path. It could be a new sign placed in a store window, road or sidewalk construction, a rainbow after the rain, a broken tree branch from a storm, a cottontail rabbit munching on grass, or fallen leaves on the pavement from strong winds, such as above.

Where’d it go?

Blossoms
Sausage sandwich and a coffee I took this a couple days ago when it was Spring. This morning I have about an inch of snow on my car and they’re are predicting a total of 3-5 inches before the day is over. So, off to a coffee shop for a a breakfast sandwich and a hot coffee, Where’d Spring go? I want the Spring weather back!!!!!

Twisted and Bent
There are mornings I feel twisted and bent when I sit up in bed. The years of wear and tear are taking their toll on my body. I also must admit I’ve not done the best in taking care of this body but I’ve been working on it the past few years.
I’ve posted images of these two trees previously but not from this angle. The sky was a dull gray formed by low clouds and smog so I brought on the black and white in post processing. I took this image about 30 feet off the road in an open area of grass, weeds and cactus. I noticed out of the corner of my eye a pickup truck pull in to the driveway across the street behind me and stop. I figured I was about to get in trouble so I turned and asked if I was trespassing on his property. He said no and wondered what I was focused on. I told him it was the old and twisted trees. He said if I wanted I could to take any photos on his side of the road but to ask first. Then he told me had some cute calves I could photograph. So, I may drive out there and have a look see. Have a super day!

Alone on the Horizon
“…Photography is a response that has to do with the momentary recognition of things. Suddenly you’re alive. A minute later there was nothing there. I just watched it evaporate. You look one moment and there’s everything, next moment it’s gone. Photography is very philosophical.” – Joel Meyerowitz

Who’s in Control?
“Observing and photographing nature makes me realize who is truly in control, and believe me, it’s not us humans.”
