Sometimes when I arrive at our hotel I find a walk to be good medicine for relieving any stress. While on such a walk I found this lamp on the outside of the hotel as a simple yet interesting subject. How often do we walk by these simple objects and never see them?

Sometimes I like to find a place where I’m pretty much by myself, like this young man. It was a warm and sunny day in Portland, Maine, so we took the bus from our hotel down to the port area. The bus depot is next to Monument Square where this young man found some solitude among the crowd at the base of the statue. Hope you’ve had a good day!
I can’t let Paul have all the fun with black and white street shots. So here is one from New York City a few weeks ago. Of course this one was not taken with an M6. 🙁 I don’t remember where I found her but she had her own little place on the street.
After breakfast I moved outside to the east porch to sit in the sun. A few small clouds moved across the sky creating a beautiful pattern of blue and white. The hotel coffee I was drinking was not that good but the warmth of the sun all that I really needed. The pure white railing on the porch made for a wonderful pattern so I did the best I could to capture what I felt that morning. I have been looking at my histogram a bit differently lately and moving farther to the right on my images. I do feel it has the potential to provide for more data in post processing.

Since I purchased the AF-S Nikon 35mm f1.8 G lens, it has become my travel lens while I work as a flight attendant.It’s small size and light weight make it easy to pack in my roller board . I no longer carry a camera bag but wrap my camera, with lens attached, in some clothing and fly the blue skies. And, in my opinion it takes some pretty sharp images. I do not carry a tripod so any images taken will be handheld, as in this self-portrait. The light for this image is from my hotel window just as the sun is going down.
