As I walked out of a local coffee house I noticed this little one standing at the window checking out the world as it went by. I loved the smile and exchanged waves. I then had to compose and shoot two images. After taking the photo I notice her mother inside the store, vacuuming. I motioned to the mother who opened the door so I could ask if it was okay. Our world needs more smiles.

Street Concert
I came across this mother and her son sitting at one of the pianos in Old Town Fort Collins. He was so focused on ticking the ivory and both were singing away. She is holding Winnie the Pooh and has a second baby strapped to her chest. I must admit it was a very entertaining concert. Loved it! I was not familiar with any of their songs but probably will find them on their soon to be released CD.

“… the story continues to begin.”
My youngest granddaughter graduated from high school this past week. Some consider it an alternative school but that is not an accurate name for it because I think it is a model of what school needs to look like. I am impressed with the school, the faculty and staff.
This graduation ceremony was a tear jerker for me and I’ve wiped my eyes a couple times writing this post. Rather than have a guest speaker attempt to urge these young people on to more success (however you define success: money, power, popularity, career, or just attaining enough credits to graduate), each graduate stepped to the podium with two white roses and offered those roses to two people who helped make their graduation possible.

Our Moods
The thing about kids is that they express emotion. They don’t hold back. If they want to cry, they cry, and if they are in a good mood, they’re in a good mood. Eddie Murphy
Even as an adult I have mood variations. What sets me in a down mood is allowing my mind to enter into commentary with thoughts that are not reality. When I’m able to release those thoughts, letting them drift off and stay present, I experience greater serenity. I’m therefore in a better mood.

All Giggles
This past weekend I met a friend at one of our malls. One of those places that was a field of flowers, grass and trees and home to all kinds of critters. Now it’s concrete, asphalt and retail stores. Anyway this young girls older sister was having a birthday party so of course she was not included. Dad’s assignment was to keep her preoccupied. When she saw this bronze statue she quickly ran up to the bench and sat on it. Then as a young child of her age she shared her sunglasses with the bronze boy. Dad agreed to let me take a photo. And one is all I took.
