    Classic Romances and a Mocha

    Classic Romances
    Classic Romances

It’s Sunday morning. Cold! Present temperature is -5 degrees. Our second day of sub-zero temperatures. The high yesterday was only 6 degrees. As I parked the car at the curb in front of the Bean Cycle I questioned my sanity. Oh, well the mocha and Leslie’s and Carly’s smiles are worth it.

The Bean Cycle shares their space with Wolverine Press, a used book store and a local publishing company. I’ve shared images from the bookshelves at Wolverine Press before. I come down here to relax with a cup of coffee or a mocha, maybe write or use the internet and wander through the used books. I enjoy sitting in the loft and look down on the regulars, even in this cold. By patronizing a favorite coffeehouse I establish a connection with the baristas and other patrons. They become an extended family. Therefore my insanity. 🙂

    A New Fountain Pen

    The New Fountain Pen
    The New Fountain Pen

My new fountain pen is a white Pilot Prera with a medium nib and filled with Diamine Ochre ink. The ink is a nice milk chocolate color and I think works will with my cream colored pages in my Moleskin journal. Not that there are any special words in this pen but the desire to write more is there. Oh, and included in this image is a favorite of mine, a mocha latte, which matches the ink also.

    A Coffee House

    Morning Journal Time
    Morning Journal Time

I do not have a specific time of the day I journal. I can be motivated to pick up my pen and journal when the mood strikes or I need to clear my head. Like my camera it is always with me. That could be the reason I post a few images of my journal and pen. 🙂 In Old Town there are nine small mom and pop coffee houses that I wander into. There is a difference in how each coffee shop makes their lattes so through experimentation I learn when to order a mocha, an Americano or chai latte. There is also a difference in the ambiance in each of them. The feel of each coffee house is based on the decor, the baristas and as well the customers. I may have to write a review on each of them as a short project. That also gives me justification for spending my money at these places.
