I have asked for volunteers to be models for me and here is the first one. This young lady is named Katie and works as an ASIC Engineer. It was easy working with her as she is confident in who she is and comfortable in front of the camera. I have a few more to share of her over the next few days as well as her puppy. I like this image because of her smile, its a bit sassy to me. Since I liked the smile so much I cropped in closer.

Reflecting
There is no desire to be outside as it is cold and therefore this self-portrait and short post. We received 5 inches of snow starting on Tuesday evening and on into Wednesday. I so enjoy the silence of falling snow, another one of the gifts of nature to heal and refresh. But along with the snow comes the colder temperatures as they dropped into the single digits on Wednesday night, 7 degrees. By afternoon we were up to 38 but quickly dropping fast back into the teens for the overnight low and we are expecting this pattern for the next 3-4 days. So last night I setup the camera for a couple of self-portraits while enjoying the Christmas tree lights, the silence and a bit of reflection.
Today is also my youngest granddaughters birthday, so Happy Birthday Madie! I love you!

A Bit of a Smirk
Okay, it’s Friday and here’s another self-portrait. I don’t know if you can call this a project but as a photographer I’m kinda getting into the swing of it. From the smirk on the models face you can tell he’s getting into it also. I really am not working on any specific projects even though I have a list. So maybe self-portraits could be one. They do offer a challenge to come up with new ideas, poses, compositions and post processing stuff. I took this last night while a slight drizzle was falling on both me and the camera. After I came inside the rain came down hard so what I had was going to be what I post. They even had some mud and rock slides up the Poudre Canyon as the two fires wiped out most of the vegetation to hold the soil in place.
I like the expression on my face with this image as there is a bit of smirk on the handsome dudes face. I head back out today for another 4-day trip. I hope everyone has a good Friday and a great weekend.

Something Different

Eye Contact
Monica I had a fun photo session with my daughter and one of her co-workers last week. One of her friends is restoring this old Chrysler Windsor and thought it would be a good venue. She came up with most of the ideas, all I did was get the lighting and exposure right. I had fun as did the girls and it was something different. This is my daughter, Monica. Thank you, girls!
