    Free Coffee?

    Free Coffee
    Free Coffee

“Every morning was a cheerful invitation to make my life of equal simplicity, and I may say innocence, with Nature herself.”

    Henry David Thoreau, Walden

Well, not really as we pay for them somehow. Many coffee shops are setup to offer a discount after 10 or 12 purchases. Some even offer free drinks and food. I’ve never had the nerve to calculate how much money I spend just to have a $2.00 discount or free coffee. And,  I probably won’t! 🙂

    Morning Shadows at the Table

    Morning Sunshine at the Table

A photograph is not an opinion. Or is it?

    Susan Sontag

More lines catching my eye but the first thing to draw me was the light. Love morning light and this was all about the light! The color of the light was lovely but my camera washed out the highlights, nor could I seem to find anything to please me with Lightroom. Finally converted it to black and white in Silver Efex and was then a happy camper. It tickles me and causes a smile. 🙂

    Morning Shadows

    Morning Shadows

Just as I was about to leave the other morning I noticed the morning sun as it streamed the my bedroom window and cast shadows on my closet door. Grabbed the camera and took three images. Another example where images do come to us as gifts. Some people will not be drawn to this image but I am. It’s simple and many times overlooked.

    Morning Sunlight and Shadows

    Morning sunlight and shadows

There are small conference rooms located throughout Morgan Library on the campus at Colorado State University. This one is located on the east side of the library on the third floor where morning sunlight flows in. I like to sit and write at the tables just outside this room. It’s quiet, at least until the students finally begin to make their way into the library.

    Warm Sunlight

I spend a lot of time in hotels and airplanes, about half the month, actually. I’ve had people tell me they could not do what I’m doing and at the age of 60, I’m surprised I am to. But the variety of people I encounter each day and the places and sights I get to experience have added immensely to my life. Sometimes they are the just the small insignificant things such as my hotel room. The views from hotel windows, both looking out and in, are awesome. The evening this image was taken was just before the sun dropped below the horizon. I just loved the color of the sunlight against my bed and pillow. So, I spot metered and added one extra stop of light then went back to reading my book in the warm sunlight.
