Feels like fall this morning. Air is crisp. Sunlight seems vibrant. Dew sparkles on the grass. People wearing sweaters and jackets. Students walking to class with backpacks, water bottles, earbuds and wearing the latest fashions in masks. Happy September 1st.

Words
“Words do two major things: They provide food for the mind and create light for understanding and awareness……”
Jim RohnBut for me they are so elusive and seem to fall short of understanding and awareness.

Morning Shadows at the Table
A photograph is not an opinion. Or is it?
Susan SontagMore lines catching my eye but the first thing to draw me was the light. Love morning light and this was all about the light! The color of the light was lovely but my camera washed out the highlights, nor could I seem to find anything to please me with Lightroom. Finally converted it to black and white in Silver Efex and was then a happy camper. It tickles me and causes a smile. 🙂

Another Toy
I took my youngest daughter to an appointment in Old Town last week then we went to lunch. I sat outside at one of the tables to enjoy a latte and get in some writing. This time I intentionally set the camera to the Toy setting. 🙂

Linden Street Cafe
This was taken last week when I met a friend at the Linden Street Cafe in Old Town Fort Collins. We were not sitting at this table but loved the light so grabbed my journal and pen to setup this scene. Would have been a sweet place to journal.
It had been a while since I’d been here. The place is under new ownership and has had some new touches added. I liked it.

A Favorite Spot
This is an image of one of my favorite spots at Morgan Library to write. I usually arrive at the library around 7:20 then grab a mocha latte at the small coffee shop. For exercise I then walk up stairs to the third floor and over to the east wing. So somewhere around 7:40 I’m sitting at one of the four tables outside the conference rooms.
I have with me my journal, two fountain pens (Lamy Logo in Pearl), my Kindle Paperwhite, maybe a book, my camera and an extra lens. It’s quiet. I love the light. It’s a favorite spot.
