It was warm and muggy. After the short walk the sweat on my body was causing my shirt to stick to my back. When the wind blew the coolness felt good. It was quiet morning, very few people were out and yet it was after 8:00 am. The empty park felt as if it was all mine. In my imagination all the empty benches were calling me to sit and rest. So, I picked one. I wrote a few thoughts and observations in my moleskin, enjoying the peacefulness of the small park. I also took a few shots of what I saw to help document the moment. It was a good morning walk.

Monte, I was feeling pretty relaxed until I noticed that far bridge with what appears to be bumper-to-bumper morning commute traffic… 😉

LOL I totally missed the bridge, Earl. I must have been so focused on the bench and lamp.

I had also missed that traffic-clogged bridge. The bench won all my attention. The way you centered that pylon (?) in the water that echoes the lampost over the bench dragged me straight to that inviting bench.
As much as I love color, I think the lack of it contributes to the calm of this lovely scene.

Thanks, Anita. Color was not an option for this scene as it really was low in contrast and color. It was going to be black and white when I pressed the shutter.
