Deep Sustained Silences

Storm clouds this afternoon on the eastern plains

Everything here feels compromised—too many planes—too many cars—too many concessions where commerce is favored over contemplation. What if it is only through the deep sustained silences that precede and follow love that life can be brought forth in all its fullness?

TOO MUCH, period! Perhaps it is just where I am on this part of my journey, but for some long time now it has seemed simply too much. It is hilarious to me that I am even rushing to get in some quiet!! Just Stop, Geri! That is what I am hearing in these words and seeing in this stirring cloud…choose peace amidst the chaos…I know that it is possible. I am grateful for this reminder to practice peace, regardless. Thank you, Monte.

I also find myself moving towards or into silence and solitude and nature to settle the restlessness and irritability within. And it works! So, we both practice this peace of deep silence. Thank you, Geri!

It is always interesting to me how the “collective mindset” appears to be aligned, or shift in a certain direction. I’ve been drafting my own “overload” blog post for a while now, and recently multiple mentions and shares on social media (of which I only use Mastodon, and a little bit of BlueSky) had that same topic as well. And your quote fits that theme too! (obviously.)

And this is a beautiful photo from which a sense of silence (before the storm?) emanates. Thanks for finding this quote, and sharing it with the photo.

There is a feeling or more people moving away from the “chaos,” as Geri calls it. I hope there is a shift in a positive direction. It seems our world needs that!! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. And the silence was after the storm.
