Age is opportunity no less than youth itself.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Words. They are an important part of my life. I journal daily and read daily. I venture into my coffee life for those enriching conversations where words are shared with another. I’m learning to listen and allow words to soak in. I’m learning to think through before speaking words because words can cause harm. Whether reading or in conversation I search for them as seeds to transform me in some way. I’ve heard it suggested that we not read for information but or transformation. It is an opportunity I embrace as I age.

I’ve been thinking recently about how each person has their unique way of expressing themselves, whether outwardly or inwardly. This expression serves as a fundamental mode of learning and experiencing life. For some individuals, this might take the form of photographs, paintings, sketches, or graphic images. For others, it could be through words, poetry, or storytelling. Some people have a talent for music, drama, or acting, among other creative outlets. Of course, many people possess multiple skills and passions, which is indeed an incredible blessing.
Beautiful photo and an excellent quote, Monte!

I have also wondered about how we express ourselves. I think you expressed it very well in your comment!!!! However, you do an excellent job with your images and writings on your blog.

Words are so often misconstrued, especially in digital conversations. Each person’s lifetime experiences translate the words of another. We could read the same poem and interpret it differently. Not sure where i was going with this… but have a great day!

Absolutely misconstrued! Expressing and understanding words are a learned talent, and maybe never really attained. I’m seeing that with my children as we reminisce about past experiences and find we each have a slightly and sometimes drastically different memories. Hope you are doing well and thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!
