Drawn to Shadows and Lines

It has threatened to rain most of the afternoon but we’ve received only a few drops. We really need it! However the clouds have definitely cooled things down. We have had rain during the past two nights but again nothing measurable for us. Last night Nature put on an exciting thunder and lightning show. I could see the flashes even with my eyes closed and on a couple of occasions felt the thunder. The above image was taken yesterday morning just before leaving for the coffee shop. I could have just as easily taken it this morning as I saw the same scene. It again shows how easily I am drawn to shadows and lines.

It’s an interesting shadow wall pattern, Monte. Take the contrast of light and shadow; imagine what a boring world it would be if everything was just one tone. I’m not even sure we’d be able to see and distinguish things. In a photo if you lighten the shadows and darken the highlights until they were the same levels wouldn’t you lose all the detail? For sure this photo wouldn’t be possible. Food for thought. Have a good day my friend! 😊

Still awaiting the promised rain for here later today. ⛈️

You are correct, we do need the contrast for images as well as the contrast, those paradoxes, in our lives. And, I have come to enjoy the shadows and the mystery within them, both in a photograph and our lives. I see you are getting some rain. Still nothing here but they offer us hope later today. I’m dancing!!!
