My online journal where I share my interests in photography, nature, journaling, fountain pens, bicycling, coffee life, spirituality and the mystery of it all.
I love how clouds are always changing their shape and color. I still will lay down on the ground and watch them as theymake their art.
Something is wrong with my theme so that when you click on the image it gives you another page with a smaller image for comments. So, if anyone is inclined to leave a comment you will need to click on the title of this post.
The first thing I notice when walking into this BBQ restaurant was these three pigs greeting everyone who entered the front door. I thought they deserved a photo0. On a trip and will be home late tomorrow night. I do hope everyone has a good weekend.
I saw this group of dandelions along the bike bath at Rolland Moore Park yesterday and just had to stop and take a photo. I find it strange how some people call them weeds and others don’t. I actually rode on a part of the bike trail I had never been on before. At the far west end the trail is the Spring Canyon Community Park. Wow, was I surprised at it’s size and beauty. It is nestled up against the foothills so the view is awesome. I found a picnic table situated among a butterfly garden and journaled for a while. I loved listening to a couple of meadow larks calling to each other. I think this will be a place I come to visit more often. Anyway it was my kind of morning.
I drove out east to the Arapahoe Nature Area to watch and photograph the above storm as it slowly moved in a southeasterly direction. This path took the storm over the city of Fort Collins bringing heavy rains and small hail. As I drove towards town I met a jogger who was drenched and getting beat up with the hail. He was glad I picked him up, thanking me as I dropped him off at work. He was getting his lunch time run and had already run three miles with about three to go. That’s another reason for not jogging at my age.
No I did not take this image. It was taken by one of the pilots I flew with a couple weeks ago. We were waiting in our hotel lobby to head out and indulge in some fine Kansas City Bar-B-Que. The post eating shot would have sauce all over me face. 🙂 And, yes it’s a new hat. Happy Friday!
I shot a wedding this past weekend for the daughter of my best friends. Sometime on Friday I envisioned this image as a way to showcase her wedding rings with a slight twist from the normal. I made the mistake of only taking one image and not a technically good one at that. So, during post processing, I adjusted the clarity on the entire image then sharpened and brightened the area around the rings. Let me know what you think.
As many of you know I don’t shoot many weddings as that’s not where my interest is. However, I chose to photograph their wedding as they both seem more focused on the marriage than they were about the wedding. They planned, worked hard and put in the money for their ceremony but when the date arrived they were open to let it all just happen. I have never seen a bride and groom as relaxed and comfortable as they were. Congratulations Kyle and Danielle.
May Day celebrations first appeared in pre-Christian times, with the festival of Flora, the Roman goddess of flowers. May Day may be best known for its tradition of dancing around the maypole and crowning of the Queen of the May. It is traditionally a summer holiday in many pre-Christian European pagan cultures. May 1 was considered the first day of summer. Well, so much for the feeling of a summer. We woke to 6 inches of snow this morning and the white stuff is still falling. I just hope it does not get cold tonight.
By the way, does anyone remember giving “May baskets” with candy to some unsuspecting girl from your class? I was so afraid she would find out it was me. 🙂 Stay warm!
