One of the toughest things we go through as children is waiting on adults to finish their conversations or whatever they are doing that ignores us. And, this is especially true when we have so many other things to do in life such as playing frisbee, hide and seek, slaying dragons, baseball, make music with the silverware, etc.

I really was looking for an image with him staring off in space and was disappointed when he looked my way. But, that is what made the photo for me.

My son, at 21, is still there. He thinks that his conversation/needs are at the top of heap – always. So, it’s hard for him to sit quietly and wait. He absolutely has to have something to entertain him: iPhone, iPad, something that uses batteries. Books, you say? No way! Ha! 😉

I think a lot of society is bored unless something external can catch their attention, even for a short period of time. I can also find that true for me. I have an imaginative mind but there are those times when I expect someone or something to give that quick dose. It is surprising how many people come on our aircraft and are disappointed when they find there are no televisions. With children I tell them they must read or have a face-to-face conversation.
