A favorite bookstore has an upper level with several lounging type chairs that can literally swallow you. There always seems to be people settled in the chairs with either their laptop or a book. And every once in a while I’ve found people comfortably asleep. Todays trip to the bookstore found this young lady with her laptop and a beam of radiating light coming from the skylights.

Michele
I still am looking to improve in my portrait work so I’m always excited to find someone who will allow me to take some of their time to work with me. I met the lovely Michele at a local coffee shop and was pleased when she agreed to let me have a photo session with her. We headed to Inniswood Gardens in mid afternoon and bright sunlight, which did not offer the best of lighting. My challenge was to try and capture her complete beauty! I say that because as a photographer I can capture her physical beauty easier than I can her inner beauty. It may be we can only experience the inner beauty to really see it. I do hope I have another opportunity to try again. Thanks, Michele!

Alyssa Revisited
Another image from the archives with some playing around in Lightroom and Topaz Adjust. I played with this one as I sat in a small coffee shop in Loveland, Colorado call Loveland Coffee Company.

Window Light
This is another example of how my photography has evolved. I find images wherever I’m at with whatever props I have around me. And, since I’m always with me, I do have a model to work with. Then the challenge is to find good light and a simple background to place the model.

Ali
I fly with some really talented and gifted young people. I also think they’re neat because they put up with this old man and my camera. Some crew members tolerate my incessant need to stop and stand in traffic or snow or rain to take a photo, or when I ask total strangers if I can take their photo and some tolerate me because I point my camera at them. This lovely young lady with stunning eyes is Ali. Not only is she a flight attendant but she’s a wife and mother, makes for a busy life. Thanks, Ali, for letting me take a few photos of you!

One of My Neighbors
With the snowfall we had last week I met one of my neighbors and her daughter while they were walking around in the snow. I had been taking images of the snow on the water grate so she asked me to take a few photos with her camera. I gladly did and even took a few snapshots with my camera. I love smiles on young people!

… on the threshold."
“Never have I found the limits of the photographic potential. Every horizon, upon being reached, reveals another beckoning in the distance. Always, I am on the threshold.”
